The recent Chainlink Spring Hackathon saw a record-breaking turnout this year, as 1481 different projects signed up which sought to demonstrate innovative applications in the Web3 and DeFi space.

We were delighted to showcase Gummys at the Hackathon to developers, artists, and creators from around the world, and are pleased to announce our capture of first prize in our chosen category.

Gummys took first place in the Filecoin — Storage Wizard category, beating out several other promising DeFi and GameFi projects.

The Gummys TV video platform uses Filecoin’s decentralized storage network to store videos and content uploaded by our users. Filecoin is based on the Interplanetary File System (IPFS) protocol, meaning content is stored on computers all around the world without any one individual or group having control over it — even the Gummys team.

Gummys founder and CEO, Pasquale Sorrentino, applauded the array of innovative tools, techniques, and applications on display at the Chainlink Spring Hackathon, adding that the first prize taken by Gummys was a sign that the team’s vision aligned with the needs of the wider Web3 community.

“Our win at the Chainlink Hackathon is a validation of our technology and shows the skill and innovation embodied by our developers. We’re delighted with how the event turned out, and look forward to representing Gummys at more hackathons in the near future,” said Sorrentino.
