Gummys can today happily announce a working partnership with Lens Protocol, the Web3 decentralized social graph framework that acts as plug-and-play social network infrastructure.

Gummys was selected from among a range of potential projects from the DeFi, gaming, and Web3 industries to receive a development grant from Lens Protocol, and will build out certain functionalities of its social video platform on Lens going forward.

Lens Protocol’s social framework will help Gummys deliver its Watch-to-Earn (W2E) video platform where users can earn rewards for creating, watching, and sharing video content on the Gummys TV platform.

Unlike traditional video content platforms, Gummys users retain complete control over their data and browsing history, and are protected from data harvesting by third-party entities. Videos are stored on the decentralized Filecoin network using the Interplanetary File System protocol (IFPS), bringing the benefits of the Web3 space to the online video segment.

Gummys founder and CEO Pasquale Sorrentino celebrated the partnership with Lens Protocol and looked forward to seeing Web3 social and earning platforms flourish in the coming year. Sorrentino said:

“I strongly believe that 2023 will be an amazing year. Many teams keep building amazing projects and there are some new narratives that will lead the next bull run. #SocialFi and #ToEarn will be the next ones. Gummys is there to play its role in this revolution.”

Gummys demands no email sign-ups or logins using the personal details of its users. The platform is free to use and exercises no arbitrary control or censorship over users’ content.
